Presentation of the National Action Plan - Health Literacy
Understanding one's own personal health comes down to properly being able to access, understand and transfer health related information. For many people, this poses a great challenge. In order to promote health literacy nationwide, a coordinated social effort is needed. Therefore, for the first time, a National Action Plan (NAP) for Germany was prepared with concrete recommendations for action. The research project was led by Klaus Hurrelmann (Hertie School), Doris Schaeffer (University of Bielefeld) and Ullrich Bauer (University of Bielefeld). The project is under the patronage of the Federal Minister of Health, Hermann Gröhe, and is supported by the Robert Bosch Foundation and the AOK Federal Association.
The National Health Competence Action Plan will be published on February 19, 2018 and discussed in several expert panels. The Federal Minister of Health, Hermann Gröhe, will open the event, which will be moderated by Eckart von Hirschhausen.
The complete program of the event can be downloaded here (in German).
