Countries at a Glance

The 2017 Governance Report's countries at a glance tool indicates whether (or to what extent) individual countries have adopted tools, rules, and practices that relate to four categories of democratic innovation: consultative-discursive, cooperative governance, direct democracy and electoral. Each country can be compared to a group of similar countries, such as those with the same regime type (according to the Economist Intelligence Unit's Democracy Index 2016) or those within the same income range (according to the World Bank's List of Economies, March 2017).
