2024 Graduation

The Hertie School's graduation ceremony stands out as one of the most remarkable in Germany. Featuring distinguished commencement speakers, compelling speeches, and a well-orchestrated blend of live music, stage design, and lighting, the event takes place in renowned theatres in the heart of Berlin. The ceremony is carefully crafted to provide an impactful moment for guests, allowing them to join in the celebration of the graduates on stage. Following the graduation ceremony, a brief reception will take place, featuring live music and several designated photo areas to capture special moments.

Registration:

• Individual invitations, including a registration link, will be sent to the Class of 2024 by Thursday, 7 March. If you do not receive this email, please contact events@hertie-school.org.
• Registration for the event is open until 31 March 2024. You may register for yourself and up to 2 guests (yourself + 2 people), with the option of adding 3 more guests to the waiting list.
• The waiting list status will be updated by Monday, 8 April 2024.
• Please register once and refrain from submitting multiple registrations using different email addresses. Following registration, you will have the opportunity to edit your information by clicking on the 'Update Registration Details' section provided in our confirmation email by 31 March.
• The registration serves as a reservation for your attendance and that of your guests at the graduation ceremony. The confirmation of your participation will be finalised based on the official list of graduates provided by the examination office in June.

• Electronic tickets for eligible graduates and their guests to attend the graduation ceremony will be issued via email by Tuesday, 18 June.
• Both printed tickets and e-tickets with a QR code on mobile devices will be accepted at the registration counters.
• Each ticket corresponds to one seat and is valid for one person only.

The Student Life Office will initiate the check-out process by distributing the Moodle tutorial to students and generating the Excel sheet on Sharepoint. Kindly review your email for instructions or reach out to studentlife[at]hertie-school[dot]org for further assistance.

At the ceremony, diplomas will be presented to graduates who have fulfilled all their study requirements and completed the check-out process, as outlined in the Moodle Exit Counseling tutorial, by June 15, 2024. If you haven't met both conditions but are eligible to participate in the graduation ceremony, you will receive a letter confirming the completion of your studies on stage, instead of the original diploma.

Even if you have successfully passed the exams, completed the check-out process, and are eligible to attend the graduation ceremony, arriving later than the designated registration time will result in the removal of your diploma from the stage programme. Consequently, you will not be invited to the stage for the diploma handover.

Please ensure prompt arrival as no exceptions will be made. Your cooperation in adhering to the schedule is appreciated.

The election of (a) student speaker(s) will be organised by the Student Life Office. Additional details will be disclosed by the Student Life Office in April.

If you have already received your graduation documents, you will receive a letter confirming the completion of your degree on stage. In this case, please refrain from bringing your diploma to the ceremony.

1. Graduation scarves will be distributed at the ceremony. Degrees will be conferred to all graduates who have completed the check-out process.

2. Diplomas and scarves will be sent to students unable to attend in person. Please ensure your address is current and accurate through MyStudies or provide a suitable mailing address to examinationoffice[at]hertie-school[dot]org. Graduates residing in Berlin are encouraged to personally collect their degrees.

Hertie merchandise items will be available for purchase at the Philharmonie Berlin. Both cash and credit card payments are accepted.
