The policy officer combined a PhD with a professional degree and built connections with fellow students around the world.
After acquiring a PhD in Political Psychology, Oliver Lauenstein pursued the Executive Master of Public Administration at the Hertie School to gain skills and tools in policy analysis for his work as Policy Officer at the German Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. At last year's Alumni Reunion, Oliver shared with us how his studies and additional degree shaped his work projects. Not only did the programme contribute to his career in the public sector, Oliver told us that a crucial aspect of the Executive MPA was also the opportunity to exchange with fellow students and make both personal and professional connections. "I think through my EMPA, I've met people I would have otherwise never encountered in my life," he said.
