Bernd Knobloch named new chairman of the Hertie School Supervisory Board

Knobloch assumes the position of Frank-Jürgen Weise, who remains a member of the Supervisory Board of the Hertie School. 

Berlin, 3 April 2017 – Bernd Knobloch is the new Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Hertie School. Knobloch, former member of the Management Board of Commerzbank AG, assumes the position of Frank-Jürgen Weise, who remains a member of the Supervisory Board of the Hertie School. The Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board is Sascha Spoun, President of the Leuphana University of Lüneburg. Michael Madeja, former managing director of the Hertie Foundation, has left the committee to take on a new professional assignment.

The changes are part of a rearrangement of committee responsibilities within the Hertie Foundation for the current chairman Frank-Jürgen Weise and vice-chairman Bernd Knobloch.

The Hertie School is a private university based in Berlin, Germany, accredited by the state and the German Science Council. It prepares exceptional students for leadership positions in government, business, and civil society.
