Berlin, 9 September 2016 – Today the Hertie School celebrates the tenth graduating class of its Executive Master of Public Administration. The school has awarded master degrees to over 1100 alumni from 80 countries since the first graduation in 2007. About half of the school’s alumni come from Germany. The top three employers for Hertie School alumni are the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the World Bank Group and the European Commission. The German Federal Foreign Office and consulting firms such as McKinsey and KPMG are among the other organisations where many Hertie School graduates start their careers. “We are very pleased to see our alumni successfully pursue careers in all sectors around the globe. By offering an academic education with a strong practice orientation and access to a network of professional partners, we support them in this,” said Professor Helmut K. Anheier, President of the Hertie School.

The Hertie School welcomes 256 students from 46 countries to its four study programmes for the Academic Year 2016/17. These students will spend the next two years completing a Master of Public Policy or a Master of International Affairs, a year or two completing the on-the-job Executive Master of Public Administration, or dedicate three years to completing a doctorate at the Hertie School.

Three new professors join the Berlin university: Professor Başak Çalı, PhD, is Director of the Center for Global Public Law at Istanbul’s Koç University and Secretary General of the European Society of International Law.
