"It's no longer about making compromises"

After the recent Brexit votes in the British parliament, Andrea Römmele, Professor of Communication in Politics and Civil Society, talks on DW about the consequences and also about the loss of trust in politics more generally. "It is about reaching compromises and agreeing on compromises, this is at the heart of democracy. And what we are seeing in Great Britain right now is exactly the opposite: the party lines are hardening, it is no longer a matter of finding a compromise," she says.
