Multiple lockdowns and the overall stress of the pandemic have weighed heavily on those coming of age in the COVID-19 era. For an article in the Guardian, which examined the pandemic’s long-term effects on young people, Professor of Public Health and Education Klaus Hurrelmann offered his expertise. 

Governments "forgetting" about the well-being of youth while safeguarding the health of older citizens was a political error, Hurrelmann told the newspaper.
