German business magazine publishes annual list of the country’s top young talent.
Lucas Guttenberg, Deputy Director of the Jacques Delors Centre, and Lion Hirth, Assistant Professor of Governance of Digitalisation and Energy Policy at the Hertie School, are among the Top 40 Under 40 leaders of tomorrow named by German business magazine Capital.
Julian Zuber, who got his PhD from the Hertie School in 2019, and Damian Boeselager, this year’s recipient of the School’s Alumni Achievement Award and co-founder of the grassroots pan-European party Volt, are also included in the list.
Every year, the magazine releases lists of the country’s top talents in four fields: entrepreneurship, politics, society and management.
Lucas Guttenberg leads the Jacques Delors Centre’s policy work on European economic policy. In his own work, he mainly focuses on Eurozone reform, on Germany’s role in the EU, and on the state of the Franco-German relationship.
Lion Hirth’s research interests lie in the economics of wind and solar power, energy policy instruments and electricity market design, as well as open data and open-source modelling. His academic publications on the market value of wind energy and on the integration of renewable energy into power systems have won several awards.
