Marina Henke interviewed in Asahi Shimbun on what the Ukraine war means for Germany

In an expansive interview with the Japanese newspaper, Prof. Dr. Henke discussed the dynamics between the Russian war on Ukraine and Germany’s changing role in global politics.

On March 18, Asahi Shimbun published an in-depth interview between journalist Jun Nojima and Marina Henke, Professor of International Relations at the Hertie School and Director of the Centre for International Security. In the interview, Prof. Dr. Henke commented on the progress of the German Zeitenwende; Germany’s positioning between the US, China, and other powers; the influence of the European Union, military build-up in Germany and Japan; and whether Germany has a role to play in bringing the war to an end.
