Monika Sus comments on Poland’s new position in Europe in Washington Post

The article cites the Visiting Professor’s commentary in Carnegie Europe.

In Carnegie Europe, Visiting Professor at the Hertie School’s Centre for International Security Monika Sus analysed “Poland’s (Lack of) Vision for Europe” as part of the ENGAGE project. Sus discussed Poland’s growing prominence in Europe after the invasion of Ukraine, its steadfast opposition to deeper European integration, and how European leaders can nevertheless engage with Poland.

Her analysis was then quoted in the Washington Post article “How Poland became the new ‘center of gravity’ in Europe”, which references Sus’ observations on the distance between Polish and Western European perspectives on Europe’s way forward.

ENGAGE (Envisioning a New Governance Architecture for a Global Europe), funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme, brings together a consortium of 13 universities and think tanks to explore how the EU can improve the effectiveness and sustainability of its external action.
