The changing face of protest

Klaus Hurrelmann writes in Tagesspiegel about the new generation of activists.

Studies show a significant shift in the political engagement of young people born after 2000 - Gen Z. Unlike the Millenials, who are interested in their careers and economic interests, this new demographic is less driven by the pursuit of material comforts and more by existential worries - about climate change and other threats that could change the world in their own lifetime, writes Klaus Hurrelmann in an opinion piece for the Tagesspiegel.  This is nurturing a new generation of activists, who are - above all - female and young.
