The dos and don'ts of political consulting

Andrea Römmele co-authors new handbook offering guidelines for political consulting.

Andrea Römmele, Dean of Executive Education and Professor of Communication in Politics and Civil Society at the Hertie School, has co-authored a new book on political consulting, Handbuch Politikberatung (Handbook for Political Consulting). The book gives an overview of the fields, principles, structures and actors of policy advising, and analyses new developments and current trends.

It also examines methods and instruments available to consultants and takes a closer look at theoretical foundations and approaches, international political consulting and methods and instruments of policy advising.

The handbook is especially relevant for students and lecturers of political and social sciences, for political strategists and the media.

Co-authors of the book include Henrik Schober, Hertie School Director of Curricular Affairs, Svenja Falk, honorary professor at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen and head of Accenture Research, Manuela Glaab, Professor of Political Science at the University of Koblenz-Landau, and Martin Thunert, Senior Research Lecturer at the Heidelberg Center for American Studies (HCA) at the University of Heidelberg.

The book is available for purchase here (in German).
