Three Hertie School professors ranked among leading German economists

The FAZ ranks Claudia Kemfert and Henrik Enderlein in top 35, Christian Traxler makes the Handelsblatt’s top 40.

The German national dailies Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) and Handelsblatt identifed the most influential German-speaking economists in two separate rankings. The FAZ placed Claudia Kemfert at 10 and Henrik Enderlein at 35 on their ranking. Claudia Kemfert is Professor of Energy, Economics and Sustainability at the Hertie School and the Head of the Energy, Transportation and Environment department at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW). She is the only women within the FAZ’s Top 40. Henrik Enderlein is Professor of Political Economy and Director of the Jacques Delors Institut – Berlin.

Handelsblatt also published its economist ranking. Christian Traxler placed 40th in the category “economists below the age of 40”. He is Professor of Economics at the Hertie School.
