Wolfgang Ischinger awarded Nunn-Lugar Award for Promoting Nuclear Security

The award recognises peacemakers working for the advancement of international peace and security.

Congratulations to Wolfgang Ischinger, Professor for Security Policy and Diplomatic Practice, who was honoured with the Nunn-Lugar Award for Promoting Nuclear Security.

The award, which was presented on 17 February at the Munich Security Conference, recognises those whose work has helped to prevent the proliferation of nuclear weapons and reduce the risks of their use. It was established in 2012 by the Carnegie Corporation of New York and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace (CEIP) in honour of former U.S. senators Sam Nunn and Richard Lugar and carries a $50,000 prize.
