Admitted student 1-on-1 calls

Enrolling in a graduate programme is an exciting step in your academic, professional and even personal life—but it can also leave you with a lot of questions. You may be concerned with finding funding to support your studies, and wondering which options best suit your profile. Or, perhaps you have questions about student life on- and off-campus and would like to know more about ways to get connected with the school’s community.

At the Hertie School, you have the chance to speak one-on-one with a member of our Student Recruitment, Admissions and Funding team, to address any initial questions or concerns. Following your admission email and tuition waiver information will be an additional email informing you of your personal contact, with a link to their profile and appointment booking page. Before you accept our offer of admission, you can reach out to your assigned contact, either via phone, email or a Teams video chat. Of course, if you are already in Berlin, feel free to come to see us on campus!

The nature of these meetings is informal and consultative, and students often use the time to ask about documents, funding, life in Berlin, and the structure of Hertie’s courses and study programmes. Our team is diverse, and includes both Hertie alumni and department veterans; as such, these calls are a rich and informative way to learn about what to expect in the coming months (and years!). Of course, you can continue reaching out to your contact over multiple occasions, should questions continue to arise.

While booking your call, you will also have the option to share anything that will help us prepare for our meeting, or that you would like for us to keep in mind as we communicate. You can use this opportunity to inform your contact of the main questions and topics you’d like to discuss. Thus, we will be ready to share any additional resources we think might be useful.
