
The alum talks about how her studies at the Hertie School influenced her career and gives advice to students hoping to work in energy policy.
Paola Yanguas is an optimist. “You need to be if you work in climate and energy policy,” she says, “because things are challenging.” Hailing from Colombia, Yanguas completed a Master of Public Policy (MPP) at the Hertie School in 2016. She now works as a Policy Advisor at the International Institute for Sustainable Development in Switzerland, and is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences School of Engineering.
