Andrea Römmele discusses election year, Chancellor Merkel’s legacy

On Bayerischer Rundfunk’s “nachtlinie”, Römmele talks about campaigning during the pandemic.

On 9 March, Hertie School Professor of Communication in Politics and Civil Society Andrea Römmele joined Bayerischer Rundfunk’s TV programme “nachtlinie” to provide her take on a busy year in German politics, including six state elections, two major local elections and the federal election set for September.

Together with programme host Andreas Bönte, Römmele offered her perspective on some of the most pressing questions on the minds of German voters, including how the pandemic is affecting the campaigns of each party, which are normally reliant on in-person engagement with voters.
