Future of Healthcare conference in India: Stipends for 20 international alumni available

Apply by 31 July and join us in New Delhi and Bengaluru from 17-20 October 2022.*

We are thrilled to announce that another workshop for Hertie School alumni is in the making – this time in New Delhi and Bengaluru from 17-20 October 2022.

Thanks to funding from the DAAD (with funds from the Federal Foreign Office and the Federal Minstry for Economic Cooperation and Development), we are able to provide stipends for 20 international alumni, which will cover the costs for flights, accommodation and food for the entirety of the workshop.

The conference "Future of Healthcare: Examining the convergence of AI, Data Science and Health Governance in a post-COVID world" puts the spotlight on digital health innovation and scrutinises how we might further catalyse its success with more supportive governance and new innovation environments. The programme includes keynotes from Hertie faculty members Slava Jankin and Mujaheed Shaikh, alumna Monika Rimmele and presentations from experts in the field. The tentative programme is available here.

If you are interested in the topics of health governance, AI and data science and can contribute to the programme based on your professional experience, please send your application (CV and cover letter, max 1 page) to alumnirelations[at]hertie-school[dot]org until 31  July 2022.

A segment of the conference, "Visions for the Future of Healthcare", invites participants to articulate their innovations or research as pecha-kucha presentations. It is a great opportunity for alumni to showcase ideas, innovation and research from the Hertie community at the conference. This part of the conference is optional and if you have a vision for the future of healthcare that you wish to present, send us an email with 1) an abstract (300 words) explaining your vision: which aspect of the health system or healthcare process you are tackling, why your vision is relevant to the context (supportive evidence/ your own research), what could help its realization and 2) your CV by 31 July 2022 to future-health[at]hertie-school[dot]org. An independent jury will select six ideas to be presented at the conference. Please note that you still have to submit the official application to the Alumni Affairs team as described above.

Alumni selection criteria:

  • Funding for 10 alumni from DAC countries and 10 from non-DAC countries (only non-German Hertie School Alumni, living outside of Germany. Please indicate your nationality and place of residence.)
  • Gender balance
  • Relevant professional experience in health governance, AI or data science
  • Motivation to support the international alumni network
  • Priority will be given to alumni who are willing to offer internships, Professional Year positions or master's thesis projects to current students. Please indicate this in your letter.

We look forward to receiving your application!
