The agreement on a reform of the ESM misses the point, Lucas Guttenberg criticises in the Handelsblatt.
"We now know that the ESM is politically not sustainable in this way. This reform will change absolutely nothing about that and therefore it is a missed opportunity.” Lucas Guttenberg is largely sceptical about the recent agreement on a reform of the European Stability Mechanism. However, he sees the changes in bank bail-outs as "an important step".
