Students paired with members of the distinguished Hertie School Practice Council.
Beginning this academic year, the Hertie School launched a mentoring programme, bringing together scholarship holders and members of the Hertie School Practice Council to learn from and inspire each other in achieving their professional goals.
Throughout the year, students and mentors become partners in a professional relationship, benefitting from each other’s input and feedback. The programme takes place during the first year of study and is designed to help students orient themselves in a new phase of working life and provide an opportunity to learn from each other’s experience, while offering advice, support and guidance.
To kick off the new programme, the Hertie School held a small reception at the Q-Club on Wednesday, 20 September. Sixteen mentees and three mentors attended, including Wolfgang Dold, Director-General for Central Services at the German Foreign Office, Hans Hofmann, Director-General for Central Services at the German Ministry of Interior, and Achim Dercks, Deputy Managing Director of the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
The Hertie School's Practice Council is made up of distinguished professionals from government, business and civil society, who ensure that the school's curricular developments are in step with developments in their fields of work, and with the demands of the German and international job markets.
