Navigating Poland’s new position in Europe: Commentary by Monika Sus adds to the discussion

A Carnegie Europe article by the Visiting Professor at the Centre for International Security was cited recently in the Washington Post

In Carnegie Europe, Monika Sus analysed “Poland’s (Lack of) Vision for Europe” as part of the ENGAGE project, discussing Poland’s growing prominence in Europe after the invasion of Ukraine, its steadfast opposition to deeper European integration, and how European leaders can nevertheless engage with Poland.

This analysis was then quoted in the Washington Post article “How Poland became the new ‘center of gravity’ in Europe”, with reference to Sus’ observations on the distance between Polish and Western European perspectives on Europe’s way forward.

ENGAGE (Envisioning a New Governance Architecture for a Global Europe), funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme, brings together a consortium of 13 universities and think tanks to explore how the EU can improve the effectiveness and sustainability of its external action.
