Postcard from the Netherlands (and Brussels too)!

A recap of our latest trip to meet prospective students in Brussels and the Netherlands.

Before the pandemic hit, we often travelled in Europe or further afield, meeting new students and sharing more about our school in Berlin. With travel opening up now, we’re excited to meet many more of you soon. Today, we’re sharing a brief recap of one of our latest trips.

We kicked off the week by landing in Brussels and meeting our amazing Alumni Chapter there. Our Brussels Chapter – like others based in London, New York, Frankfurt and beyond – is a cluster of former Hertie School students who remain active members of our school’s community. For alumni, the chapters are a great way to keep in touch with fellow classmates, and for students, they offer a fantastic opportunity to network and get careers guidance. Much of the chapter’s members now work in Brussels public policy institutions, including the European Union and NATO, and are very happy to share insider careers advice and tips with Hertie School students! Next stop: the beautiful city of Maastricht! After first hosting a coffee chat to meet our admitted students, we also held info sessions about our master’s programmes with the United Nations Association and European Careers Association at Maastricht University. We were excited to see so many Maastricht students come along and ask questions, and we hope to stop over in Maastricht again sometime soon!

Snaking our way north through the Netherlands, we reached our final stop in Leiden. Just south of Amsterdam, one of Leiden’s many quiet canal-side cafes made the perfect spot for another coffee chat with future students to answer any questions about the Hertie School in a relaxed and informal setting. Make sure to keep up to date with our events list and join a coffee chat near you soon.

And with that, we’re at the end of our whistlestop tour through the Low Countries! If you didn’t get to meet us this time, don’t worry! Sign up for our newsletter to get the latest info about our future events. We look forward to meeting you soon in sunny Brazil, where we’ll be touring through next. Watch this space!
