What's new? | Sharing perspectives on navigating the crisis

In a normal year, the end of May signifies the conclusion of another academic year and the anticipation of the graduation ceremony for our outgoing students. But very little about 2020 has been "normal". After a swift transition to online teaching this spring, most of the Class of 2020 will graduate this summer as planned.

I am incredibly proud of the resilience and tenacity that our students have shown in recent months. A fitting farewell to this cohort will be shared in the upcoming weeks. For now, alumni from 2008 and 2009 have offered their advice and encouragement on navigating career opportunities in the midst of crisis. A few of the interviews from this series are highlighted in this month's newsletter.

Looking ahead to the the fall, the Hertie School will prepare for a presence-based start to the Academic Year 2020-2021. We will remain flexible in our approach in order to meet the needs of our current and future students, and I have every confidence that we will be able to meet any changes in regulations as they occur. The Hertie School's primary objective is to ensure that we can continue to offer an engaging and interactive learning experience to all students, while fully guaranteeing the health and safety of our community.

And finally, we are very pleased to announce that Jennifer Beckermann, MPP alum from 2009, has recently returned to the Hertie School as our new Director of Communications. Jennifer has been an active member of the school's community since graduating and will be an energetic voice as we continue to expand in the coming years. You can read our current newsletter here.
