This month, the spirit of our community was on full display.
We rallied together to support MPP alum and PhD researcher Sahil Deo with a fundraising drive for much-needed oxygen in Pune, India, collecting just over €21,000. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this initiative!
Our community spirit continues to flourish as we grow, and we are delighted that two new faculty members will join us this August. Arianna Ornaghi will join as Assistant Professor of Economics and will build on our strong expertise in evidence-based political economic research. Lynn Kaack will join as Assistant Professor of Computer Science; her work on machine learning and climate policy will be an integral part of our new Master of Data Science for Public Policy, set to welcome its inaugural cohort this September.
With continued growth in mind, we are very pleased to announce that our fifth Centre of Competence – the Centre for Sustainability is now online. Led by Professor of Sustainability Christian Flachsland, the Centre aims to shape the debate on sustainability-related policy and decision-making in Germany, Europe and internationally. Stay tuned for an invitation to its official launch event at the start of our next Academic Year!
And finally, I am very proud to celebrate the team of Hertie School students who were once again crowned German national champions in the prestigious Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, an incredible accomplishment
