One of three 250,000-euro-grants are up for grabs on 25 March.
Slava Jankin, Director of the Hertie School Data Science Lab, and his team will present their plans for the new Data Science Lab on 25 March at a public jury meeting, where they will compete for a grant from the InnovationHubs@Campus initiative. The Hertie School is one of eight universities that made it to the final round of the competition, funded by the Dieter Schwarz Foundation and the Stifterverband. InnovationHubs@Campus aims to foster spaces for learning, research and innovation at German universities.
The eight finalists were shortlisted from 90 entries by 85 higher education institutions and will aim to convince the jury that their innovation project is worthy of one of the three 250,000-euro grants. In addition to the top three grants, 15 promising entries will each receive funding of 15,000 euros and a membership in the initiative’s Innovation Club.
The Hertie School Data Science Lab leverages and amplifies breakthroughs in data science and artificial intelligence (AI) to tackle major societal problems. The lab’s mission is to foster, advance and promote excellence in data science research, education and application to enable better decision-making for the common good.
