Hertie School team excels at moot court competition

Team makes it to quarter finals of Jessup International Moot Court competition.

Congratulations to the Hertie School moot court team for an excellent showing in the 58th Jessup International Moot Court competition in Passau on March 8-11. The team included Amanda Lee, Julia Black, Evi Kroeker, Sarah Worthing and Dennis Clement, who were coached by Pierre Thielboerger, Mark Dawson and Peter Lavelle. The team qualified for the final stages, reaching the quarter finals before being knocked out by Hamburg, the eventual finalists. In the earlier rounds, the group won three out of four pleadings, losing only to Humboldt, the eventual winners.

Jessup is the world's largest moot court competition, with participants from over 550 institutions in around 87 countries. The competition simulates a fictional dispute between countries before the United Nations’ International Court of Justice. Teams prepare and argue oral and written pleadings.
