The October edition of our newsletter is out!

New Co-Director Jacques Delors Centre + Future of Health Care in India + the state of democracy

This month's newsletter takes a look into our contributions to a strong democracy. With the government changes in the United Kingdom, Italy and Sweden and the upcoming second round of elections in Brazil in mind, we discussed the state of democracy in several events and research publications.

In this month's edition of the newsletter, find out:

  • about our new Jacques Delors Centre Co-director and first Henrik Enderlein Fellow Johannes Lindner, who joined us from the European Central Bank this month
  • about the 2022 Berggruen Governance Index, a study comparing good governance and the quality of life in 134 countries over 20 years. The project was initiated by former Hertie School President Helmut K. Anheier, Professor of Sociology.
  • why our times call for executive training for senior professionals in a Three questions article with Dean Prof. Andrea Römmele
  • about a promising research project, investigating the influence of firms on democracy. Our faculty members Johanna Mair, Professor of Organisation, Strategy and Leadership and Sébastien Mena, Professor of Organisation and Governance just won a Horizon Europe grant and will lead the Hertie School research team in the international project
  • the conference Future of Health Care in India, which we organised with Indian and German partners in New Delhi and Bangalore
  • and many more topics.
