Integrated Professional Year
The Integrated Professional Year at the Hertie School is a structured programme in which students commit to pursuing a Professional Year at one of two public sector consultancies – PD or BwConsulting. Applicants who are highly interested in improving public service provision and investment can spend a full year at either of these firms between the first and second year of the Master of International Affairs or Master of Public Policy. After completing the Integrated Professional Year, students return to the Hertie School for their final year of studies.

Additional Professional Year opportunities
The Integrated Professional Year offers students the opportunity to secure a guaranteed position at one of our partner organisations ahead of beginning their degree. The job offer for the Integrated Professional Year is made after admission to the Hertie School and is contingent on enrolment in either the Master of Public Policy or Master of International Affairs.
There are additional Professional Year opportunities that students can pursue between their first and second year of study. During the first year, the career development team will advertise these positions and support students who are interested in exploring other Professional Year options. [More]
