Organisation, Management and Leadership

Governments, as well as organisations that address public problems, face increasing demands to be effective, efficient and to make policy decisions based on sound evidence. As a response, new organisational arrangements, management concepts, digitalisation and approaches to leadership have been promoted in recent decades. However, the design and application of such new structures face a number of governance challenges, which vary within and across sectors. How do new systems interact with existing governance arrangements that operate according to long established and deeply embedded practices, institutional logics and identities? What unintended consequences can be observed? What types of leadership and governance models are required to face 21st century challenges? The Organisation, Management and Leadership Cluster seeks to address these and other questions.

The Public Management and Governance Research Colloquium takes place on Thursdays 5:00 - 6:30 pm in room 3.65.
