Sara Daub is a PhD researcher affiliated with the Centre for International Security. Her main research interests include civil wars, external support, non-state actors and civilian victimisation. In her dissertation project, she analyses causes and consequences of external diaspora sponsorship. Sara completed research stays at the University of Maryland, College Park (2022-2023) and Uppsala University (2022) which were funded by Fulbright Germany and the German Academic Exchange Service. She is a Civil Wars Paths fellow at the Centre for the Comparative Study of Civil War (2022-2023). Sara holds a Master of Arts in Development Studies specialising in Economics from the University of Passau and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from the University of Göttingen. She gained work experience at Germany's development agency GIZ.
