Omar H. Kristmundsson is a professor in the Faculty of Political Science at University of Iceland where he has been a faculty member since 2003. He received his PhD at the University of Connecticut in public administration and public policy. His research interests are in the areas of public and non-profit management, organisational theory, strategic management and higher education governance. He is currently directing a comprehensive evaluation on governance and administration of University of Iceland. Prior to his academic career he worked as a special advisor and consultant at the Ministry of Finance and other administrative agencies. He has been active in the non-profit sector, for example he served as the president of the Icelandic Red Cross.
