Ting Luo is a postdoctoral fellow at the Hertie School of Governance. She is currently working on the research project “Authoritarianism 2.0: The Internet, Political Discussion, and Authoritarian Rule in China”, funded by means of a starting grant of the European Research Council. Her current research focuses on the impact of digital development on governance and political participation in authoritarian regimes. Her research interests include comparative politics, digital politics and media, elections and democratisation, and Chinese politics. She holds a PhD in government and a Master of Science in public policy and administration from the London School of Economics and Political Science, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Nankai University in Tianjin, China.
