Janina Mangold is a Doctoral Student at the Hertie School of Governance. Her dissertation examines German and American philanthropic foundations supporting higher education, and her research interests include foundations, non-profit organisations, social movements and party systems. She also works on the research project, “The Role and Position of German Foundations”. She holds a BA in Public Management and Governance from Zeppelin University and an MA in International Relations and European Studies from Central European University, Budapest. She previously worked for the Robert Bosch Foundation and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
