Ashley Metz is a doctoral student at the Hertie School of Governance. She studies organisations that aim to create social impact, such as social enterprises and impact investors. She previously worked on new product innovation at Nokia and represented Nokia in a European Commission partnership, serving as chair of the citizen focus action cluster that worked on inclusiveness and sustainability in cities. Her work on venture philanthropy and inclusive business has been published by European Venture Philanthropy Association and the United Nations Development Programme. Her research is funded by the Hertie School and the Foundation for Economic Progress. She holds degrees from IESE Business School and Northwestern University.
