Leonie Neuhäuser is a PhD candidate at the Hertie School. Her main research interest is in dynamic processes in social networks. In particular, she uses complex network models to study social media polarisation in conflict zones. This combines her interest in quantitative analysis, international relations and social dynamics. She holds a Master of Science in Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing from the University of Oxford. Previously, she studied mathematics and psychology in Germany at Universität Bonn and in Mexico at Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla. She has also gained practical experience working for the German Federal Foreign Office in Saudi Arabia.
