Maurice P. Schumann is a PhD researcher affiliated with the Centre for International Security. His research interests include the interplay of technology and state repression, as well as organised violence in civil wars. In his dissertation project, he examines how governments in competitive autocracies leverage the Internet to repress anti-government activities. Previously, Maurice worked as a Consultant at the United Nations and as a research assistant in several different research projects. He holds a Master of Social Science in Peace and Conflict Studies from Uppsala University and a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Public Administration from the University of Konstanz.
