Jasmine Sommardal is a PhD researcher at the European University Institute. Her doctoral research seeks to reconstruct the understanding of national security under the European Convention on Human Rights. Jasmine holds a Master of Laws from the University of Helsinki, and an LLM in Comparative, European and International Laws from the European University Institute. Prior to her PhD, she worked at the Legal Service of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland (Unit for Human Rights Courts and Conventions, Unit for EU and Treaty Law) and as a legal assistant to judge Robert Spano at the European Court of Human Rights. Jasmine is a coordinator of the Human and Fundamental Rights Working Group at the European University Institute.
