Frederik Traut holds a B.Sc. in Economics from the University of Bonn and spent a year at the University of Hong Kong where he studied political economics and the Chinese economy. At the Hertie School, he studied international affairs with a focus on trade and finance. In his thesis, he worked on micro-determinants for the failures of German state banks during the Financial Crisis. Besides his studies, Frederik Traut worked as student parliamentary assistant to Joachim Poß, MdB and continued to work at the Bundestag after his graduation. He is now occupying the position of a parliamentary adviser and supports Mr Poß' work on EU Affairs with his economic and political expertise. He also gained experience in consulting and completed a commercial apprenticeship in wholesale and foreign trade.
