UpdateDeutschland
UpdateDeutschland is the follow-up Open Social Innovation project of #WirvsVirus in 2021, initiated by ProjectTogether and endorsed by the German Chancellery. The call addressed broad challenges from almost all areas of society e.g., climate change, government tasks, or mental health.
The organisers built on learnings gained during #WirvsVirus and the experiment included citizens as social innovators as well public administrators at the municipal, state and federal level. During a hackathon (sprint) more than 600 challenges ranging from climate change, discrimination to mental health were exposed and discussed. Update Deutschland supported 320 initiatives during a four-month long implementation program.
The research team will publish a Learning Report on UpdateDeutschland at the end of 2021.
