Women in culture and media: A European comparison

A research team at the Hertie School of Governance, headed by Helmut K. Anheier, carried out a comprehensive survey of the role of women in art, culture and the media industry in selected European countries. The project viewed the German context from an international, comparative perspective and aimed to learn from other countries’ experiences and best practices. After a preliminary quantitative and qualitative investigation, experts from the countries that were researched were invited to join a panel discussion in Berlin (Spring 2017). At the end of the project, the results of the research were presented in a practice-oriented report which took the lessons learned during the panel discussion, as well as those learned from an online exchange with country experts, into account.
