Public affairs and stakeholder communication

Executive seminar

For companies and organisations, targeting stakeholders ranging from clients and customers to investors, employees, civil society representatives and suppliers is critical for sustainable profits and success. In a media society where reputation is key, knowing and catering to the specific stakeholder’s expectations is a crucial factor of competitive differentiation. This course addresses stakeholder management and communication as a holistic approach to doing business and discusses options for successfully reaching each individual stakeholder. Relationship / network management, media management and corporate social responsibility are just a few of the topics incorporated as strategic methods.

This course enables participants to critically analyse the intensive and multi-faceted environment organisations/corporations operate in. It also makes participants sensitive towards the intersection of business and governance and regulatory issues. The course conveys key-concepts such as stakeholder dialogue, citizen engagement, Corporate Social Responsibility, Public Affairs and Lobbying as well as practical tools, such as stakeholder mapping, or crafting a message. Upon successful completion of this seminar, participants should have acquired key-competencies in stakeholder communication and campaign and communication management.
