Refugees as foreign policy experts: Building a political advocacy initiative

This project course offers students the opportunity to take an active role in initiating a unique policy advocacy project. The students will participate in the establishment of a policy group which would utilise the local refugee community as a generator of political insight and policy agendas on Middle-Eastern affairs. The course is meant for students who wish to develop their ability to promote independent initiatives in the field of policy advocacy. The main objective is to allow the students to experience first-hand the process of transforming a policy-informed idea into an effective mechanism of political activity. In this framework, the students will gain practical experience with regards to the process of building a policy initiative from the ground up - both in regards to the creation of policy-related content and the initiation of political impact campaigns.

This course is for 1st year MPP students only.
