The future of Europe

The course on the ‘Future of Europe’ is the second edition of the Europeanship Multi-Campus course, organised by CIVICA – the European University of Social Sciences, which gathers eight leading European higher education institutions in social sciences*.

The course critically explores the main European policy challenges and is designed and taught jointly by a team of professors from the different partners of the alliance. The course will be delivered synchronously across all the campuses of the CIVICA consortium as a series of live on-line lectures. On top of lectures, the course spurs students to work in teams across countries and disciplines, with the aim of completing a final capstone project assignment related to specific and concrete policy challenges. Participating students from the Hertie School will also attend weekly in-person labs taught by a Teaching Assistant, where they will discuss the contents of the lectures.

*CIVICA was selected in 2019 by the European Commission as one of the pilot European Universities, funded under the Erasmus+ programme. It was awarded a further round of funding in 2022. It is an alliance composed of Bocconi University (Italy), Central European University (Austria and Hungary), European University Institute (Florence), the Hertie School (Germany), IE University (Spain), National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (Romania), Sciences Po (France), Stockholm School of Economics (Sweden), The London School of Economics and Political Science (United Kingdom), and the Warsaw School of Economics (Poland).

This course is for 2nd year MIA, MPP and MDS students only.
