14-17 May 2018 | Workshop
Restructuring and reform in the public sector have been persistent themes in the history of UK government. Many international public management trends and concepts originated in the UK. This workshop primarily focuses on helping participants better understand the context and current developments of UK government, including such issues as fiscal retrenchment, efforts towards better policymaking, and the achievement of policy impact. Participants will also focus on analysing good practices and critically reflecting on the applicability of UK experiences to other government contexts.
The workshop is held in cooperation with the renowned Institute for Government, an independent charity think tank working to increase government effectiveness, and will offer in-depth insights into the work of Whitehall through visits to various ministries and agencies, as well as a joint session with the Policy Institute at King’s College.
This workshop is offered in the open enrolment programme and as part of the Executive MPA programme.
