Alexandra Magaard specialised in digital governance, data science and advocacy at the Hertie School. During her studies, she worked as a communications consultant at the Transparency International secretariat (TI-S) in Berlin, helping TI-S expand its digital outreach. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and German from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia and completed a year abroad at Freie Universität Berlin. Prior to the Hertie School, she spent four years in Washington DC, working in the Federal Aviation Administration's Office of Communications, as well as at the Heinrich Böll Foundation North America.
