Amna Riaz studied public policy at the Hertie School with a specialisation in management and organisation. Prior to joining the Master of Public Policy programme, she completed a Bachelor in Business Administration at the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences in Pakistan and spent an exchange semester at Emporia State University in the USA. Her professional experience includes co-founding a non-profit for empowerment and inclusion of the Khawaja Sira (transgender) community in Pakistan. In line with her professional and research interests, she completed her internships at MILES (Zentrum für Migranten, Lesben und Schwule) and the Imagine Foundation in Berlin. She is interested in the topics of migration, intersectionality, human rights and advocacy, social entrepreneurship and sustainable and green business models.
