Daniel Peña Ortiz holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government and International Relations from the Universidad Externado de Colombia and a Post-graduate Diploma in Economics from the Universidad de los Andes. He studied public policy at the Hertie School, concentrating on social policy, policy evaluation and quantitative methods. His professional experience spans five years working as a policy advisor for the Rural Development Agency (ADR) in Colombia and as a monitoring analyst at the Colombian Financial Fund for Development Projects (FONADE). Most recently, he worked at the German development agency GIZ in Sierra Leone supporting the country office projects’ operations. His areas of expertise include in rural development, natural resource governance and youth employment.
