Ilan Moussaieff Masson specialised in foreign policy, security and development during his studies at the Hertie School. Prior to joining the Hertie School, he completed a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and History at the University of Melbourne. His professional experience includes working as Programme Coordinator at the German Federal Foreign Office, where he organised training courses for international diplomats. He has also completed a traineeship at the European Commission and is eligible for positions for Contract Agents, Function Group IV. At the Hertie School he volunteered as an editor for the Governance Post, co-founded the Hertie International Development Club, and worked at the Centre for Digital Governance. He has also completed an exchange semester at the Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals (IBEI).
