Jonas van Hooff specialised in international security, foreign policy, peacekeeping and peacebuilding during his studies at the Hertie School. Before his master’s programme, he completed a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences at University College Maastricht in the Netherlands. During his studies at the Hertie School, Jonas spent a semester abroad at the George Washington University in Washington DC. His professional experience includes working as a research fellow for the United Nations System Staff College Knowledge Centre for Sustainable Development in Bonn, Germany, as well as being a member of a student-led think tank to assist Free Press Unlimited to ensure journalist safety in Nigeria. He also completed an internship in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s (UNESCO) cultural department office in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
